Greenwood won one England cap, against Iceland in 2020, but was sent home from the camp shortly after because he broke COVID quarantine rules by inviting women back to his hotel. He has not been picked since, and many believed his international career was over after he was arrested on suspicion of multiple offences, including rape. Those charges were dropped, although his Manchester United career was ended.
